MEMBERSHIP

 

 

 

 

 

All members are required to be a member of Arizona Golf Association.  To join go to azgolf.org and Click on JOIN if you are a new member to Arizona Golf Association.  Click RENEW if you are renewing your membership to AGA and Ladies Grand Niners.  Dues are $30-$35 annually for AGA (depending on the time of year you join or renew) and $30 annually for Ladies Grand Niners.  (Note that clubs are listed alphabetically on the AGA web site.  Be sure to scroll to the "L" section on the list of clubs and select "Ladies Grand Niners".)  Payment for both will be by credit card on the AZGolf.org site.

Individuals can join at any time during league season, which runs from November through May.  There is an opportunity to play in the summer as well. 
 
The Ladies Grand Niners play every Tuesday. There are two shotgun starts, one at 12:30 and the other at 3:00.  Members can sign up for either time on our website.   [Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we may not be having the usual shotguns in the fall.  We may need to continue playing by tee times.  More information will be shared when the decision is made.]

 

We consider Desert Springs Golf Course our home course but do play at all of the Sun City Grand golf courses duing our active season.

 

It is expected members have golfed, have a basic understanding of the USGA Rules of Golf and are able to play nine (9) holes of golf in approximately 2 ½ hours or less.  Members should have a knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf.  As a member, you must have a World Handicap (WH).

 

At the beginning of the membership year, a member must declare the tees from which they will be playing; the Orange or Red tees. (See exceptions in bullets below.)  These are the tees that you will then play from for the season.  New members will be given a five-week grace period if needed, to try both tees prior to declaring the tees from which they will play.

  • If you are a new member without a nine-hole handicap index AND new to golf, you will automatically play the orange tees that season. 
  • Beginning November 2020, if your 9-hole handicap index is equal to or greater than 27.0, you will automatically play the orange tees.
  • Beginning November 2020, once your 9-hole handicap index is consistently less than 27.0 you may elect to play subsequent seasons from the red or orange tees.  


As a LGN member, you agree to allow photos to be used for publicity purposes in The Grand Lifestyles or on Grand Info.
